Equine Canada SS Judge; Hunt Seat Equitation, Sport Horse Hunter
Phyllis is a well-known figure in Canadian equestrian circles. Phyllis has taught at the Maple Ridge Equi-Sports Centre for 40 years, where she also rode as a child. As her teaching career progressed, Phyllis dipped her toe into the world of equestrian event judging. “I’ve been a judge for about 18 or 20 years, and now I’m a senior jumper judge, which means I judge at a national level, including at EC Gold shows,” says Attrill. Phyllis is an EC Senior Status judge in the hunter, hack hunter, hunt seat equitation and jumper disciplines.
Equine Canada SS Judge/ USEF ‘S’ Judge English Dressage;
USEF ‘R’ Judge Western Dressage
Doreen is an Equine Canada Senior Dressage judge , a licensed USEF “S” judge and licensed USEF “R” Western Dressage judge.Her judging assignments take her across Canada and throughout the US.She was actively involved with Dressage Canada as a member of Equine Canada’s Official’s CommitteePersonal riding accomplishments include Provincial and National awards and championships from Basic through Grand Prix. She was long listed in 1989 & 1990. Having trained and competed from basic through Grand Prix, Doreen is cognizant of the time and expense involved in developing a competition horse at any level.

Paul Kostial is a businessman, entrepreneur, speaker, coach, philanthropist, and long-time competitor and advocate in the Arabian horse world globally. He started riding horses at the age of five. He’s had many business-career successes and been involved with many charitable endeavours. Paul has earned many United States and Canadian National Championships. He is an international judge of Arabian horses for 36+ years and has judged over 300 shows globally.
N/R Judge; Working Western & Main Ring
Much of Jill’s life outside the show ring revolves around Arabian horses. She has horses on her property and works with horses nearly every day. Jill Breeds horses and loves to see some of the horses she has been involved with have success in the show ring. Says Jill: “I love introducing people to the Arabian horse and I continue to be involved in working with riders of all ages. I also provide multiple clinics every year and have organized trail rides as well.”
Jill occasionally serves as a judge and notes she has had the honour of judging working western at the 2018 Canadian National Championships and the 2022 US National Championships.

Joan has been active as a trainer, breeder, judge, and chair of several AHA committees. Joan brings to the Inland Northwest a long history of successful breeding, training, and showing of champion Arabian horses.
