Welcome to AHA Region 17

Region 17 is a proud affiliate of the Arabian Horse Association (AHA), the North American governing organization dedicated to promoting and preserving the majestic Arabian horse.

Geographically, we are the largest of the 18 AHA Regions, covering the vast expanse of Western Canada including four provinces – Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba & Saskatchewan, and three northern territories – Northwest Territories, Nunavut and the Yukon.

Many of Canada’s top Arabian, Half-Arabian, and Anglo-Arabian horses call Region 17 home. Whether you are searching for a national quality show horse, or a trusted four-legged family member, our members would be pleased to introduce you to the extraordinary qualities that have led us to fall in love with the Arabian horse.

The vast geographic size of our region means our championship show alternates — usually every two years — between Alberta and British Columbia, offering an unforgettable experience whether you attend as a spectator or an exhibitor.

Our clubs host local shows from spring through fall, providing a platform for you to shine whether you are just getting started in the show ring, or seeking to compete at the Regional and/or National level.
